Robert Whetstone

Managing Director – Lafarge Aggregates

Robert Whetstone graduated from the University of Kent with a degree in History and Politics. After university, Robert served in the Royal Artillery for six years, retiring as Captain.

 

Robert was appointed Managing Director of Aggregates in 2007, having joined Lafarge in 1998 as General Manager. Robert previously worked for Rentokil Initial as a Regional Director and built his career at Marks & Spencer commencing employment as a Management Trainee and working his way up to the position of Commercial Manager.

 

Robert is a member of the Board of Trustees at the National Memorial Arboretum, home to the Armed Forces memorial - a role with personal significance as his family has a long military background.

 

Robert is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce and is a Fellow of The Institute of Quarrying.
