Charitable donations

Community grants and donations

In 2009, Lafarge Aggregates & Concrete UK donated nearly £700,000 to community projects around the UK.

There are two ways local charities and community organisations can apply for grants:

Charitable Donations Programme

Charities and community organisations can apply for donations of cash or materials.

To apply, please fill in the form below and post to Charity Advisor, Communications Department, Lafarge Aggregates & Concrete UK, PO BOX 7388, Granite House, Watermead Business Park, Syston, Leicester LE7 1WA or email it to tracy.nagle@uk.lafarge.com.

Certain exclusions apply to our donations:

  • Your organisation must be located within three miles of an operational Lafarge Aggregates & Concrete UK site or be otherwise affected by our operations. Use our location finder to find out which site is nearest you.
  • We do not support national charities
  • We do not support religious, political or pressure groups
  • Projects must not be overseas
  • Projects must not have a direct link to any of our sites

Applications are reviewed monthly and you will be informed in writing if your application has been succesful.

The Landfill Communities Fund

Organisations may also apply for funding through the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF). To explain how local groups can apply for funding for a wide range of community and environmental projects, Lafarge has produced a leaflet that can be downloaded by clicking on the link below.

For further information about the scheme, and to see if your project is eligible please contact the Derbyshire Environmental Trust on 01629 580000 extension 39182 or det@derbyshire.gov.uk.

Suporting a new outdoor classroom and community park in Derbyshire

Through its Landfill Communities Fund Lafarge, along with other funding partners, have supported a new community park on the outskirts of Buxton in Derbyshire.

The grant has enabled the open space at Granby Road, Fairfield, to be turned into a wildlife area and ‘outdoor classroom' whilst another part of the site will become a play area for children and teenagers.

Pathways, new fencing, access gates, climbing boulders, a cable way and a fun ball game will help to transform the open space into a community park for all.

Supporting community aspirations in Warwickshire

A new state-of-the-art village hall has been built in Church Lawford, between Coventry & Rugby with the help of Lafarge's LCF.

The hall was a culmination of 11 years of hard work by the local community and will provide a facility more than twice the size of the original old Reading Room.

The new hall features high standards of energy conservation and innovative items such as under-floor heating, heat pump sun tubes, rain water harvesting and low energy electrics.
