Fact File

  • Gypsum, the raw material used in the production of plasterboard, cove and plasters, is known to have been used by the ancient Egyptians in the construction of pyramids.
  • The Lafarge Plasterboard Bristol factory occupies a site oof 32 acres - equivalent to 25 football pitches.
  • The Plant despatches over 600,000 tonnes of plasterboard and accessories each year.
  • Approximately 150 lorries a day leave the factory to deliver product country-wide.
